The P90X Workout System Combines Muscle-Pumping With Nutrition For A Beach Body
Tony Horton’s P90X workout system claims that the series of 12 challenging training routines will transform your flabby figure into a Muscle And Fitness Mag cover look-alike within a few weeks. By combining the workouts with a strict, but balanced diet and nutrition program, your fitness efforts are seriously revved up. P90X workout reviews label this as a comprehensive program with proven results.
(Caveat: This program may be too demanding for many beginners. If you are out of shape, you may get better results with the more gradual approach of Tom Venuto, another big name in the industry. This body builder is an inspiring advertisement for his own fat-burning and muscle building ebook. As they say, the proof is in the pudding, and boy, what a pudding this is! Check out his physique in ‘Burn The Fat, Feed The Muscle‘. This guy understands how your mind works, and knows exactly how to motivate you to go from flab to fab. This is a much gentler approach, covering everything from nutrition, to strength training and cardio workouts. You even get ‘cheat days’ for those inevitable slip-ups. No guilt trips here! Three additional benefits of ‘Burn The Fat, Feed The Muscle‘ include the really low price - less than a third of the P90X! - , the fact that you get the 340 page book immediately, and the long list of bonuses such as ‘Foods That Burn Fat, Foods That Turn To Fat’, ‘How To Measure Your Body Fat’ and the unique ‘Fat-Loss Tips Ezine’.)
The premise behind the series of workouts is that your body is kept alert due to exercise surprises thrown at it during each new session. This creates what is called “muscle confusion” and helps you to avoid a plateau. The system also combats boredom by stimulating and motivating the user constantly. You can use the program to develop a toned, lean look, or to bulk up.
You’ll get 12 P90X Workout DVD’s or video’s with the following:
- Chest And Back Workout: A full range of upper body exercises.
- Plyometrics: High-impact, explosive jumping aerobic workout. This has been scientifically designed to increase power and improve athletic performance. While getting fit, you will also be upping your game on the tennis court. This is due to the quick-action stretch reflex you employ while executing the takeoff and landing moves in the jumps. Of course, if you have joint problems, this particular routine isn’t for you.
- Shoulders And Arms Training: Build strength with the help of presses, curls and fly movements.
- Yoga Workout: This one is for body and mind. You will be working on flexibility, strength, breathing and balance.
- Legs And Back Workout: Create the legs you desire with squats, lunges and pulls.
- Kenpo X Routine: Here you will give your heart a go with a variety of punching and kicking. Watch how your balance and coordination improve.
- X Stretch: This program again targets your athletic performance and helps to prevent injuries.
- Core Synergistics Workout: This set concentrates on building core strength - vital for back health.
- Chest, Shoulders And Triceps Program: Create perfect definition and build strength in your upper body.
- Back And Biceps: Build powerful biceps with the help of this set of exercises.
- Cardio X Workout: This is a low-impact routine that targets fat-burning.
- Ab Ripper X Routine: A killer ab workout for an enviable washboard stomach.
Also included in the system:
- A comprehensive 3-phase diet and nutrition plan with healthy P90X recipes. This program has been designed to maximize fat-burning, while giving you all the energy you need to do the training.
- The P90X Fitness Guide brimful with fitness information to motivate you and give you the tools you need to make a success of the program.
- The “How To Bring It” video gives you a complete overview of the whole system and gets you going in double quick time.
- You also receive a calendar that helps you to set goals and tracks your progress day by day.
- There are also free online support tools you can use and a collection of inspiring P90X testimonials.
Your progress will depend on your condition when you embark on the program. Don’t expect a miracle if you are at 400 pounds! This isn’t a quick fix or a no-sweat promise. It will only work if you do the work. The equipment you need for P90X workouts is really simple. All it takes is a place to do pull-ups and some dumbbells or resistance bands. There is even a money back guarantee in case you are unhappy with the results. The system is fairly affordable and if you are lucky you may even be able to find a P90X promo code or coupon for an extra discount.
It is always safer to consult your doctor before embarking on program such as the P90X Workout routine. This is extremely important if you have any ailment. Another useful P90X tip is to make sure that you are wearing a pair of well-cushioned training shoes. Do the routines on a padded exercise mat.
The P90X workout system shouldn’t be seen as a replacement for regular cardiovascular exercise. Try to include both components in your training.

Believe it or not this workout is the real deal. I am usually highly skeptical of infomerical fitness products. While none of the workouts are breakthrough, the P90X offers a good structure and motivation to keep working out. One way they do this is by offering 12 different workout DVDs so its hard to get bored.
I just started using the P90X about a week ago. I have a blog where I am taking a picture of my progress everyday, so come check out my day to day results and learn more about the P90X.
Hi Brian
Just ordered my P90x. I should be receiving it by next Tuesday. I am excited! Just finished my 4th marathon last Sunday, but nothing that I do seems to work. I would like to lose about 25 pounds of fat. Lets keep each other encouraged!! Awesome on your journey!! You look great!!
