How To Use The Weider Platinum XP 600 Home Gym To Get The Body You Want

The Weider Platinum XP 600 home gym offers a resistance system that will target every major muscle group. You can use the strength trainer for toning, losing weight, building muscle or cardio conditioning. This is a total body gym that is great for home use, with dimensions of 82″(H) x 66″(W) x 80″(L). Note that you will need two people and plenty of time to assemble the Weider Platinum XP 600 home gym.

Let’s take a look at the ways in which you can use the Weider Platinum XP 600 home gym:

1. Warming up

Before using any of the Weider home gyms, you need between 5 and 10 minutes of light stretching exercises to warm up, otherwise you may injure yourself. Don’t skip this because you are in a hurry.

2. Toning your body

When toning your body, you don’t push your muscles to the max, but aim for a moderate approach. Keep this in mind when selecting the resistance level. This allows you to increase the number of repetitions to 15 or 20 per set. Take a short break between sets.

3. Weight loss

If losing weight is your goal, go for minimum resistance and maximum repetitions on the Weider XP 600, resting between sets. Keep going for between 20 and 30 minutes.

4. Building muscle mass and doing strengthening exercises

Now we come to building size and adding definition. This approach requires you to really push your muscles to maximum capacity, gradually increasing the resistance and number of repetitions. A good starting point is 3 sets of 8 repetitions. Here you will take a longer rest between sets – this can be up to 3 minutes. How do you know when you need to increase the resistance? You normally reach this stage when you can do 3 sets of 12 reps fairly easily.

5. Cross training

Here you can do strengthening exercise one day and cardio conditioning the next. It adds variety to your program, which may be useful. If you use the Weider Platinum XP 600 Home Gym one day and a Series 7 Bowflex Treadmill the next, you may postpone meeting workout enemy number 1 – BOREDOM! Just remember to take a rest day each week in order to give your body a chance to recover.

6. Cooling down

After your Weider Platinum XP 600 Home Gym workout, you again need to stretch for a few minutes, while cooling down. This will help to minimize stiffness.

If you are very unfit or have any medical niggles, consult your doctor before you begin this type of training. Also make sure that you follow a healthy, balanced diet while exercising. You can’t expect your body to function optimally if you are starving yourself or are stuffing yourself with junk foods!

The Weider exercise guide that comes with the user manual has pictures that show you how to do the different exercises. It is crucial to maintain proper exercise form while training to ensure that you get the most from it and to prevent injuries.

An exercise chart or record will help you to stay motivated. By jotting down your weight and measurements, you will be able to track your progress. It also helps if you get a friend or partner to join you in your efforts.

So, why don’t you try some arm, leg and shoulder strengthening exercises on the Weider Platinum XP 600 Home Gym? Before you know it, you can show off killer 6 pack abs when strutting your stuff on the beach…
